"Brunch For a Bunch" The Long (or Lost) Weekend Part I

It worked out that since we were not taking the annual pilgrimage to the beach house this year, we all would be in town for the Three Rivers Festival Parade. Better still, Chief and J-BROWW have some prime parade frontage in their real estate portfolio, so it was decided we should put that frontage to use and have a Parade Party!

The Parade started at 9:30 ish (well, 10, actually) so it was an early morning after a late night of making easily handled breakfast food. But boy was it worth it. This ended up being one of the best weekends ever!

It all began with my old stand by for crustless quiche...6 eggs, a half cup of half and half, and whatever else you want to add.
I roasted some grape tomatoes in olive oil in the oven until they were starting to burst, then chopped them up.

Then added some kalamata olives
And added about 1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Poured into the greased muffin tin and baked at 350 for about 30-35 minutes (but watch them, because my oven is unwilling to stick to a temperature and part of the time they were being baked at a higher temp. I checked them after 20 minutes, then kept checking).
The next round was "porteenie" mushrooms...

And bacon. Turkey bacon, to be exact. Each recipe makes about 15 muffin sized quiche. Maybe a few more (I think it depends on how much "stuff" you put in them).
Then i did a regular, deep dish quiche based roughly on this recipe.
Ready to go in...
and come out. This guy was left in tact on Saturday, so Chief, J-BROWW, Guy, and myself enjoyed this for brunch on Sunday (or as we call it "Day II").
Then it was time for a double batch of sausage-cheddar balls.
The first batch followed the recipe, the second batch had a healthy dollop of Sriracha. Delish!
The next morning we assembled on the porch, and dug in.                                                to be continued...
