Lowcountry Crab Boil

On our last full day in Charleston, we had to get out of the house. Mallory suggested going to the fish market in Mount Pleasant, and I suggested a quick stop at nearby Isle of Palms. We all agreed to make a return trip to Red's Ice House on Shem Creek. It ended up being a perfect, low key lead-in to the Lowcountry Crab Boil I mentioned yesterday.

Red's has a wonderful restroom for gentlemen.
"Y'all ready to boil some crab?" Mallory asked.
"You think you need to ask?" queried Guy. So off we went.

Back at the house, GG set about prepping the shrimp.
While Mallory cut potatoes.

And sausage.

And corn (there was more than this).
Some folks can't wait!

Adding the crab legs. We ended up having to use two pots, as our eyes misjudged the quantity.
Toss in the shrimp. Almost ready!
Come and get it! (remember, there was a second pan-full)

We ate, and ate, and ate. And what you see in the pan is what was leftover from 7 people digging in. It was a wonderful last night in Charleston. Miss all y'all!
